PLEASE NOTE THIS SEMINAR
HAS BEEN POSTPONED
It has come to our attention that several critical people within the Daito Ryu organization have recently traveled aboard and/or had contact with individuals with flu-like symptoms.
Out of an abundance of caution we will be postponing this seminar until further notice.

Join us for an introduction to the parent art of aikido. Daito ryu’s core principles focus on subtle manipulations of balance that can complement and enrich any martial arts training.
For Aikido practitioners, Daito Ryu is a link to the art of Morihei Ueshiba's teacher Sokaku Takeda. Experiencing the earlier versions of many familiar Aikido techniques will provide a new perspective on the evolution of the art and your own Aikido or Jujutsu practice. The seminar is open to martial artists of all styles and levels of experience.
Kids Session (ages 5-18): in a special class designed for younger martial artists, students will learn about the roots of Japanese martial arts through Daito ryu’s traditions and develop practical skills they can apply to their own training.
Jason Martinez is a senior student of Roy Goldberg Sensei, President and Chief Instructor of Daito Ryu Aiki Jujutsu. Martinez Sensei has trained for over twenty years with Goldberg Sensei and Hayawo Kiyama Shihan, Chief Instructor of North America Daito Ryu Aiki Jujutsu Kodokai. Martinez Sensei received his Oku Sandan in Daito Ryu Aiki Jujutsu Kodokai and received the Hiden Mokuroku – the first scroll of transmission in Daito Ryu from Goldberg Sensei.
Daito Ryu Aikijujutsu is a 1,200-year-old samurai martial art. Once a secret art, passed generation to generation through the Takeda clan, the system of Daito Ryu Aiki Ju-jutsu was revived in the late 19th century by Sokaku Takeda, 32nd in line of the Takeda family. It has directly influenced the development of many popular martial arts, such as Aikido, Shorinji Kempo, Hakko Ryu Jujutsu and Hapkido. Daito Ryu’s core principles focus on subtle manipulations of balance and structure and will complement and enrich any martial arts training.
